I'm totally thrilled to say that Hope's YouTube channel has reached the 100,000 subscriber milestone, which means we have been awarded with the Silver Creator Award. Hope and I have been working together for nearly 6 years. The first video I shot for her was a performance of her original song 'For Me Love', published on her channel in September 2013. My personal favourite performance of Hope's is her cover of Lullaby by Billy Joel. The song is perfectly suited to her and she performs it brilliantly. This video was also my first time using haze on a shoot, which was very exciting! Hope has been the subject in which I developed my abilities as a videographer, and so I am ever grateful to her for allowing me to film her. I look forward to working further projects with her. Very proud of this simple shoot for Hope. My usual setup with her: Canon XC10 on a DJI Ronin M. x2 colorsparks used to enhance the daylight look. Audio recorded with Apogee Ensemble firewire, Lewitt MTP 940CM on vocal and x2 AKG C214s on the C Bechstein grand.
3 years in the making, Jack Elliott Hobbs has been hard at work on his second album. Riddled with setbacks, the album has finally found a way to completion. Featuring the incredible 'Go For Gold', 'Rut' and 'Lifelong', the record is available now. "I am very excited to finally share Revival with you and I hope you enjoy listening and watching as much as I have enjoyed writing, arranging, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, filming, lighting, playing and producing it."
Last year, Melodi - an old friend and ex-artist on my label, got in touch about shooting a music video for her new single. I was of course delighted to shoot her again, in collaboration with Lowkey Films. I am very excited to announce that my new album 'Revival' will be released on my label Jacket Records worldwide, across all digital music stores on 1st March 2019.
For most of my life I have felt uncategorised, lonely and misunderstood. At school I stuck to outskirts of the party, desperate to make an impact, or just accepted my unsociable nature and stayed in my room. I made myself believe I was destined to live a life of solitude. That I had no voice. This year I discovered a reason for all that. I'm a logician. Don't get me wrong. This ain't no cult or religion. It's a study and science. It's not my bible, but a guide. To my brain. I read the profile and it was like reading a book about me.
She did it. She made me cry. A man who’s experience at boarding school spit me out with the emotional capacity of a spoon. That, and my newly understood logician personality traits.
This week I had the pleasure of filming Brian McFadden from Westlife at The Boisdale jazz club in Canary Wharf.
On 22nd October, I finally got the pleasure of recording my 2nd cousin’s group alternative classical quintet 'Zum Roten Igel' aka. 'ZRI' The group required a showreel done to send to agents and labels to really show off what they can do.
The university of Hertfordshire utilised the project as an opportunity for field experience for their third year film production students and provided a film crew with a significant amount of cinema-grade equipment. Nows it's autumn 🍂, wanted to make sure I capture it’s colour, something I've always wanted (but never had the time) to do. Throughout my life autumn has been my favourite season. It symbolises new beginnings for me as I always wished to reinvent myself and begin afresh on my return to school for another year.
