Synopsis

A series of short films highlighting the beauty and simplicity found in everyday life. No script or dialogue, only familiar actions, chores and activities framed by the art of cinematography. Each episode sheds light on tasks often completed in modern life.
Follow Jack and his dogs Nova & Nuno around their home as they engage with domestic activities which we may be so well acquainted with - we may have reached the point of boredom. However, there is a beauty and calm in the mundane, which we may have previously overlooked or hoped to find in the elsewhere. Should we take a moment to pause, watch and listen, we may experience it. |
"Our ordinary lives hold a lot of beauty and calm that may often go unfelt. The aim of this project is to capture those feelings and frame them, so they may be felt on demand.”
Inspiration

"A positive born out of the COVID-19 lockdown is that it provided me with a lot of time to hit the books - mainly works by Alain de Botton, who I believe to be one of the most important minds of our generation.
Upon my discovery of the psychoanalytical concept of Transference, I began to think about how I could incorporate this into my work." TRANSFERENCE: A phenomenon within psychotherapy in which the feelings a person has about their parents, as one example, are unconsciously redirected or transferred onto another.
"How could many ways could one interpret the same scene? How could this be used to help people discover more about themselves?"
