In February 2022, I was brought into the core production team of the inaugural World Trailer Awards by Director - Tim Cole, Business Manager - Alejandro Barrinos and Event director - Alex Martin-Verdinos. Alex, coordinated the technical capture of the event, in collaboration with kallenberg.art - a Portuguese media production company. Initially, my role was described as B-cam and behind-the-scenes videographer, with output primarily for social media. The event took place in the Algarve, Portugal and I organised my own travel to arrive 4 days before to capture the build-up and preparation. Upon arrival, was quickly tasked with a variety of other jobs including photographing & interviewing contributors, capturing establishing shots, putting together the intro for the show, all using my own kit. As well as assistant editing the show itself in DeVinci Resolve 17. After the event, I took the lead on producing a promotional video for one of the sponsors of the show - AMD. I lit, recorded sound and filmed an interview with Alex, captured B-roll and edited a 90 second video highlighting the importance of a computer’s reliability, speed & multitasking capability in the production of World Trailer Awards. It’s safe to say, I used all of my experience in lighting, camera, sound and editing to contribute and successfully complete all required tasks to get the show delivered on time, as well as delivering my original behind-the-scenes briefs. Thank you to Tim, Alejandro, Alex and everyone on the World Trailer Awards team for having me and I look forward to working with you again next year! GalleryPhotos by Ola Nadolna
